Jo Herman

Jo is a HCPC Registered Physiotherapist with a broad range of clinical experience. Jo qualified in 2001 and worked as a Physiotherapist within the NHS for 15 years. In 2003 Jo specialised within the field of Neurology and for the next 4 years Jo worked in acute hospital settings, in-patient neurorehabilitation units, in-patient spinal injury unit, out-patient and community rehabilitation, supporting clients with neuro disabilities, those who have experienced complex trauma and clients with chronic progressive conditions. In 2007 Jo started working as a Physiotherapist in a Specialist Neuro Rehabilitation Unit where she gained both expert Physiotherapy skills and experience as a key worker. As a keyworker Jo organised and chaired meetings, wrote reports and liaised with outside agencies, including statutory services and private care agencies. Jo was responsible for organising and facilitating the patients’ rehabilitation journey whilst in hospital, working with the multidisciplinary team to ensure joint goal setting and collaborative working to develop a clear therapy plan. She supported and trained other professionals and support workers to work with a very complex client group and developed a special interest in working with people with highly complex physical, sensory, communication and behavioural needs. In 2014 Jo relocated to the West Midlands with her family and began working as an Independent Physiotherapist. Jo’s caseload is varied, from newly injured acute clients through to those more than 10 years post injury, giving her a therapeutic understanding of the rehabilitation and the litigation journey. Jo continues to run her Private Practice alongside her role as case manager
