Kate Tinkler

Kate qualified in 1993 as a Registered Nurse in Learning Disability and has worked with Adult and Children with learning disabilities in a variety of settings. Kate has worked as a community nurse with care management responsibility and also worked in a community home for people with learning disabilities and a mental illness. Kate has experience in recruiting, training and managing staff, ensuring care packages meet individual needs, has worked with therapists, health colleagues, schools and colleges to ensure that all needs were known and correct equipment, staffing levels and protocols were in place. Kate has managed a respite service for Children with profound learning and physical disabilities with associated health conditions. She worked closely with families, ensuring that their child’s needs were known, understood and all staff were trained and competent in being able to care for them. Kate ensures that the client is at the centre of all discussions and plans, knowing that services need to work for clients and their families.
